![]() The overall feeling of top-heaviness was hard to ignore as the slide cycled, but the recoil impulse was soft and manageable when using normal-pressure ammunition. The magazine release was smooth to operate and fell naturally under the thumb. A left-handed shooter would have more difficulty during stoppage drills, as a southpaw really needs a third hand in order to hold the slide open by engaging the safety lever in the takedown slot. The C9’s grip shape proved to be comfortable and the pistol pointed naturally. Much to my surprise, they fed and ejected just fine. Why? Because (a) I happened to have them lurking in the bottom of my range bag and (b) I was getting desperate to find something, nay anything at all, that would run reliably in this test. You can do it, with that said with the goofy way these guns are designed nothing is quick or easy working on one but it’s doable.Sights are adjustable and easy to pick up, but failed to survive use as an impact weapon.Ĭontrary to all sensible protocols, I eventually tried a magazine or two of my off-the-charts 115-grain TMJ Major reloads, which scream out of my shorty racegun at around 1,450 fps. Called them and told them the problem and got two pins and new springs in the mail a few days later as I told them I could replace them myself. ![]() 45ACP that works and shoots fine and have had only to replace the firing pin once as that is one of their weak points too, Using the firing pin for the ejector, bends them over time and you go to getting soft primer strikes and misfires. I just got lucky and got a lemon, I think most of them work fine, for awhile anyway. The Red Ball mag with the goofy dog leg bend in the middle of it has a rubber joiner to hold the two mags together to make a twenty round mag and had a plug of rubber that joined them and thus made it fit tight against the bottom of the grip and so they actually worked fine. They had to have done something wrong with the magazine catch as when fully inserted the mags had a bunch of up and down play in them and left to their own would hang down an eighth to a quarter inch below the grip and the slide couldn’t pick the rounds up out of the mag as they were to low. Three Hi Point magazines and none of them worked at all but a Red Ball 9MM twenty round mag worked fine in it. The one I got was black but should have been bright yellow as it was a real lemon and would not work most of the time due to the magazines not locking in tritely all the way up into the grip so they worked right. 380 pistols and reload for it so ammo is plentiful here. The extensions in front of the feed lips are sort of a spring guide mess and bending them for more or less stress on the front of the round usually fixes the nose diving problem a lot of them have. Work with them trying different things as there isn’t much you can do to them that you can’t also undo. Most of the feeding issues with this pistol is not the pistol but the badly designed magazine lips.
